Unimak Island
Agayadan Village aerial view
The Unimak Island research began in 1994 and lasted until 1997. Most of the fieldwork was focused on Agayadan village, a relatively large site with some 20 multi-room house depressions. Agayadan was my dissertation site while a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Over the four field seasons my crews excavated portions of three houses and tested other areas of the site, most notably what I believe was a defensive structure.
